About the Company.

The Amplifier range of products is designed and made in England by the Systems Division of SEMELAB utilising the expertise and marketing skills of “Magnatec”.

Semelab, celebrating its 30^th year as a semiconductor manufacturer is very well-known for its high quality products throughout the world. The Semelab group established its own wafer fabrication company – Semefab (Scotland) Ltd based in Glenrothes, Scotland early in the 1980s.

Semelab builds its products in a custom designed facility based in Lutterworth in central England. Products fall into five main categories:-

· High-Reliability and Military grade products – full QML, CECC and to many other national and “in house” approval systems.

· Power products – including state of the art power modules for Commercial / Industrial systems through Military levels and into fully qualified Space levels.

· RF products especially for communications and transmitter applications.

· Opto products generally into custom applications.

· Custom Turnkey systems.

· “Amplifier” Class D power amplifiers.

Magnatec, co-located with Semelab, specialises in “engineering distribution” into the commercial and audio markets. Magnatec offers specially designed products for the Audio market, which are used by most of the main Amplifier makers in the UK, Europe and now, the USA. Much of Magnatec’s expertise has been used to guide the development of the “Amplifier” range.

Magnatec supplies catalogue and special selection semiconductors are drawn from a stock held on site of >40 million finished and especially manufactured “line” product for immediate to seven-day delivery. In addition to devices made by Semelab, Magnatec holds franchises with many well known suppliers. In the manufacture of its own products, Magnatec has uses its own fully qualified test facilities.

In addition to the two main buildings located in Lutterworth and housing the main semiconductor activities, the Semelab Group also has constructed a custom facility to house EV-Technology – a subsidiary specialising in the provision of mobility aids to the disabled.
